Viking lessons come to life
Posted: 27th July 2021Children got the opportunity to live like Vikings as their studies came to life.
Year 4 pupils at Roydon Primary Academy studied Vikings in their topic work and How to Train Your Dragon in English.
They investigated what early Viking society was like, what Vikings were good at and how they told stories.
The subject came to life when pupils dressed up for the day, creating Viking jewellery and writing messages in runes.
Head of school Anna Myatt said: “The children have been studying the Vikings which is an exciting and interesting topic. They got to know who the Vikings were, when and where they lived, and what was important to them.
“Norse mythology is an important part of the lives of the early Vikings, so the children were also introduced to some Norse gods and stories.”
