"Fantastic role models" leave primary
Posted: 20th July 2021Children described as “fantastic role models” have completed their primary education with a raft of celebrations.
Year 6 pupils at Roydon Primary Academy have set off for their next step of education, but not before enjoying time together and with their teachers.
End of school activities included a day at Harlow Outdoors where they had a go at archery, mega paddle boarding and bumble.
They were also shown a screening of a leavers video, including scenes based on the last year and memories of their time at Roydon.
Having worked with author Jennifer Killick several times during their time at the school, the year group got the opportunity say farewell during a virtual visit.
The celebrations continued with a ride in a stretch hummer limousine, a buffet and a pizza party.
Matt Girvan, lead practitioner, said: “Year 6 have been doing a number of activities over the last few weeks as we wanted to ensure they had the best possible leavers experience we could give them.
“This group of Year 6 children have been a pleasure to teach and work with. They have made outstanding academic progress and their behaviour has been exemplary all year.
“It is wonderful that, even after a challenging year and a half, the children have continued to work hard, make happy memories and been able to share the last few months of school together. They have represented Roydon wonderfully and have matured into fantastic role models for the younger children.
“We will miss them a lot and we wish them all the very best for secondary school.”
