From this week the children at Roydon will be able to start using our new library. The library has been moved back to the front of the school so to be a focal point of the school. It has had new furniture including comfortable sofas (donated by a kind parent) and new shelving units donated by FORSA. It has been re painted and books organised into sections. Each class has chosen an author and has created a display on this author, which now sit proudly on the walls. 

The children will be given the opportunity to go to the library on a weekly basis and choose books to read. This is on top of their class reading book. I hope that this will help to inspire and motivate the children of Roydon to read more often and to read for pleasure.

Thank you so much to all the parent volunteers who gave up so much time to help with putting books on shelves, and for all the donations of books and furniture which have helped to make the library so inviting.
