School turned into art exhibition
Posted: 27th April 2021Creative children interacted with the world around them by turning the school grounds into an art exhibition.
Pupils at Roydon Primary Academy took part in the Great Big Art Exhibition, producing artwork which was displayed in the school building or on the fence outside.
Head of school Anna Myatt said: “It has been really important for the children to be able to express themselves through their art works.
“Creating art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development.
“The project has been important as it’s brought the children together, despite them being separated in their bubbles.
“Some of the children’s artwork has been displayed on the school fence and we hope it brings a smile to the faces of our community.”
The theme of the artwork was humour.
