Recorder players demonstrate new talent
Posted: 16th July 2019A special performance gave young children an opportunity to demonstrate their new musical talents.
Year 4 pupils at Roydon Primary Academy spent ten weeks working with First Access Music to learn to play the recorder.
They learned how to play various notes, as well as reading music to play a number of songs.
Parents were invited into class for a special performance where pupils showcased all they had learned.
Matt Girvan, Year 4 teacher and maths co-ordinator, said: “This has been a great opportunity for children to learn how to play an instrument accurately, as well as all the skills that come with it, such as reading music and performing for an audience. They have loved the lessons and are now talking about learning the recorder further and even taking up different instruments!”
