Roydon Remembers
Posted: 12th November 2018On Monday 12th November we held our annual remembrance service in memory of those who lost their lives or had their lives effected by the Great War of 1914-1918.
This years assembly held extra meaning as it marked 100 years since the armistice which bought an end to the war. Lynne Meridale, who works in our kitchen, is the standard bearer for the Roydon branch of the Royal British Legion and kindly shared the standard with the children.
This year the Roydon branch of the Royal British Legion marks it's 90th birthday, so another major landmark.
As a mark of resepct many of the children who attend rainbows, cubs and beavers wore their uniforms for our assembly.
The children then observed a two minute silence in memory.
We would like to thank Lynne for sharing this with the children, and Mrs Turner for her moving words and brilliant explanation.
Roydon will remember them.
