Lily-May goes to Parliament

Posted: 19th December 2016

Last week Lily-May Lawrence, one of our Year 4 pupils, had the amazing opportunity to go to the Houses of Parliament. Lily was one of only 20 children chosen to help celebrate 100 years of the cubs. This in its self is a fantastic achievement!

Whilst in London Lily got to meet lots of MPs and also a few celebrities! Lily got to meet Steve Backshall who I am sure you will be familiar with from the TV show 'The deadly 60', she also got the opportunity to meet his wife Helen Glover. Helen is an Olympic rower and she gave Lily the chance to hold her gold and silver medals form the Rio Olympics this year!

Lily-May also got to meet Mary-Rose who is the neice of the co founder of the cubs!

Lily-May we are all very proud of you here at Roydon! Well done, we all hope the day lives long in your memory!!
