Gardening Morning
Posted: 1st October 2016Gardening morning was a huge success!! We had a loyal band of 20 helpers who braved the rain, and work their socks off to transform our pond and allotment area!
As you can see from the images we can now access the pond and the allotments have been cleared out ready for use. Some overhanging trees were stripped back to provide more light to the area, and ivy stripped from trees to save them from dieing.
The adventure playground which has been condemned for some time was also very kindly removed. Even our wildlife area got cleared out which can now be used. The library also got a lick of paint!
We even found a penny farthing in the pond area and a plaque from an old member of staff.
I thank everyone who helped out, again the Roydon community shows how strong it is! We even had help from staff from other schools!! We may have to do it again some time!! If anyone wants to take some plant pots and plant in them to return them please feel free we found hundreds!!
