Appreciating the history of hometown
Posted: 28th July 2022A trip to Gibberd Gardens helped pupils to appreciate the history of their hometown.
Year 3 pupils have been learning about the history of Harlow.
As part of their work, they researched architect and master planner Sir Frederick Gibberd.
They visited Gibberd Gardens to see where he lived and the sculptures Sir Frederick left to Harlow Council.
Teacher Alison Hazell said: “The trip was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Sir Frederick Gibberd and to study and sketch some of the many sculptures he’d collected throughout his lifetime.
“The children were able to develop their appreciation of the diverse range of artists’ works in the gardens.“
