Super staff recognised by pupil award
Posted: 24th April 2019Super school staff are being recognised for their efforts – by the children they work with.
Pupils at Roydon Primary Academy are celebrated with the Star of the Week award.
But, Year 5 pupils Peggy, Taryn and Kendra decided they would like not just their classmates to be rewarded for hard work and achievement, but also their teachers.
The Super Staff certificate has been launched as a result, with pupils nominating the members of staff they believe should receive recognition.
Once a winner has been chosen, the nominees design their own certificate to be presented in assembly.
Headteacher Michael Clark said: “It’s so nice hearing children in the playground talking about Super Staff nominations and certificates. They are coming up to me to tell me how amazing their teachers and other staff are. It has created an atmosphere of appreciation which is wonderful.
“Every week, the certificates are personalised and so they are not being given out for the sake of it.
“Staff at school are such big influencers in children’s lives. It’s easy to forget how much children care about the adults who help them.
“I take no credit for this initiative; it has all come from the children.”
