New Premier League Kits
Posted: 22nd September 2017We at Roydon Primary Academy, are celebrating after being awarded a Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment pack.
The pack contains 13 stunning Nike football kits, adorned with the Premier League logo, which will be used as the kit for many of our sports teams who represent the school in a football match or tournament.
The Kit and Equipment Scheme forms part of the Premier League Primary Stars offer to primary schools in England and Wales. This is a curriculum-linked education programme that uses the appeal of the Premier League and its clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Delivered by the Football Foundation, the Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme gives teachers a range of equipment that can be used across different curriculum areas to get children active.
Richard Scudamore, Executive Chairman of the Premier League and Football Foundation Trustee, said: “Congratulations to Roydon Primary Academy on their successful application for a Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment pack. We hope this kit, coupled with the free downloadable online resources, will help teachers harness the popularity of football to inspire primary school kids in everything from Maths and English to teamwork and sport.”
Matt Girvan, our year 5 teacher and football co-ordinator, said: “I am delighted that the school has been rewarded such a fantastic prize. We are a small school with an even smaller budget so we could only dream of being able to wear such professional and high-end kits at football matches and tournaments. The children are absolutely buzzing and have been extremely vocal in their eagerness to improve their skills and fight for their place on a team. The chance to play in a shirt with the world-famous Premier League logo on the sleeve is a dream for many children and one that I hope we can make possible for as many of our pupils as we can.”
